Master of Science in Information Systems Management
I went through Holy Family’s ISYM program to gain an understanding of how technology is affecting our world. I wanted to learn about the business, science and ethical aspects of technology. That’s exactly what Holy Family delivered. Before I knew it I wrote a thesis on Geospatial Systems. This area captivated my interest and briefly after I graduated I toyed with the idea of working in the Geospatial field. However, I started deeply examining my career goals and where I’d head next. The hunger for learning was there and I seemed to have a flair for writing. With trepidation yet excitement I applied for Holy Family’s Doctoral program in Educational Leadership. I knew the program would push me to hone my research and writing skills. Was I leaving technology behind? Not at all! Because in today’s world education is merged with technology, I therefore have a basis for a deeper understanding of both fields. The technological vocabulary, business world insights, knowledge of human resources, attention to sound ethical decision-making; these are all concepts I gained from the ISYM program. I needed this learning experience. For me, the program served as more than a stepping stone to the next level, it served as solid ground. There is a phrase “education begets education.” Holy Family’s ISYM program led to a path of higher education, a deeper desire to continue formal learning. I feel ultimately education has served to broaden and enrich my life. I currently work as an Information Representative at Bucks County Community College and aspire to work as an Assessment Coordinator in Higher Education.

"The ISYM program is your key to success! Earning a Masters of Science at Holy Family University played a huge role in my successes as Infosec professional" -Fine 10'
Here’s what the ISYM program prepared me to do: Safeguard Information System assets by identifying and mediating potential threats, risks or exploitable vulnerabilities. Conduct comprehensive assessments defining resources, security abnormalities, access privileges, and flow control. Execute formal and informal security testing on web-based applications, mobile devices, servers, computer systems, and networks. Develop security improvements by assessing security inefficiencies, projecting logical or theoretical security requirements, evaluating trends and auditing. Implement and maintain security controls along with performance reports to communicate system status.
Pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management at Holy
Family University was one of the most rewarding experiences of my lifetime. The
ISYM program offered a perfect blend of IT knowledge and management theory
to enhance the skills already earned from both my undergraduate degree and
30+ years of business experience. With a B.S. in Marketing I had
little in the way of a technical background; however, the ISYM course work
is designed so that even those unfamiliar with Information Systems Management
can participate fully in classroom discussions and ultimately succeed in understanding
the impact technology has on every facet of today’s global business arena. I
would strongly encourage anyone to consider Holy Family University’s
Graduate Information Systems Management Program.
