Overview

Digital ForensicsThe field of Digital Forensics is thriving, both regionally and nationally, because of the ever increasing threats to national security and information systems. It is no longer adequate to provide a defense against these attacks. The sources of cyber attacks must be identified and eliminated. Digital Forensics plays a major role in this activity.

Students completing the Digital Forensics program will be prepared to enter the field of Digital Forensics in a public or private environment as computer crime investigators, computer crime analysts, Digital Forensics investigators, Digital Forensics analysts, Internet security technicians, Internet security analysts, and database security investigators. Individuals currently working in this or a related field will also be able to substantially enhance their knowledge and skills.

Digital Forensics Program Goals

The Digital Forensics program is unique because it blends business, criminal justice, computer technology, and digital forensics. Students completing this program will have the foundation knowledge that all business students possess, plus specialized knowledge of computers, networks, databases, mobile devices, information security, criminal investigation, evidentiary processes, and accounting forensics. Our students will be able to work with different operating systems, graphic files, cell phones, and mobile devices. They will be able to develop high-tech investigations, and they will have the tools to provide expert testimony.
