as both an employee and a parent. I enjoy working in the Residence Life
area and working with the students.
Jessica Kane – Garden RA
My name is Jessica Kane. I am from Philadelphia. I am a second-year
education major at Holy Family with a 3.8 GPA. I attended a small high
school, with a class of only 77 students. I knew I wanted to go to a
smaller, more personal college, and Holy Family is just that. I first
started taking classes here as a junior in high school and immediately
fell in love with the school. It is very easy to get involved here.
I am on the cheerleading team and intramural council, and serve as a
freshmen mentor and an RA. I look forward to everything this year will
bring. I live in the Garden Residence.
Sarah Marsteller- Garden RA
My name is Sarah Marsteller. When I tell most people that I am from
Maryland, their eyes get big, and they usually reply with, “Oh,
really?” Actually, Maryland is not that far from Holy Family.
I live right across the Pennsylvania border in a little town called
Rising Sun. The reason I decided to continue my education at Holy
Family was because I was recruited to play softball by Coach Mickey
McGroarty. I also loved the small class sizes and the limitless opportunities
that the city had to offer. I will be a junior this year, majoring in
journalism with a 3.77 G.P.A. As I stated before, I play softball for
the Tigers, and I am also a member of SACC and the Lambda Pi Eta Honor
Society. I applied to become an RA to get more involved in the community
and to continue meeting new people. My first two years at Holy
Family have been enlightening and empowering. Hopefully, the next two
years will be no different. I live in the Garden Residence.
Sara Powers- Garden RA
My name is Sara Powers. I am from Cherry Hill, NJ. I am currently a
junior at Holy Family, and I am majoring in Psychology with a minor
in Sociology. This will be my second year as an RA, and I am looking
forward to living in the Garden Residence. Being an RA, I have learned
a wide range of life skills that I will be able to use in the future.
Not only have I made many good friends along the way, but I have grown
both as a person and a leader. I look forward to working with
my fellow Residence Life Staff this year, as well as continuing my education
here at Holy Family.
Esther Choi – Garden RA
My name is (Eun) Esther Choi, and I am currently a sophomore nursing
major at Holy Family. I graduated from Lower Moreland High School in
Huntingdon Valley; also known as the other side of Abington. People
describe me as very outgoing & bouncy. I like being unique and
creative so I can always stick out in a crowd. I love the size of Holy
Family’s campus and how the staff, professors, and student members
were so welcoming when I first came here. I lived in St. Joe’s
Hall as a freshman, the Duplexes for my fall semester of my sophomore
year, and here I am in the Gardens as an RA for the Spring Semester.
I have met many great friends I can always depend on here at Holy Family.
Melissa Greco- Duplex RA
Hi! My name is Melissa Greco and I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia
and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Coming from a public
school I thought it was going to be hard to adjust, but I was wrong.
The University has a great education program and it is close to home,
so I can visit home anytime I want. I am a junior Education major. The
reason I wanted to be a RA is because you get to meet and work with
so many great people. Being at Holy Family I have made so many friends
and can not wait to make more. Everyone is always willing to help you.
I am so glad I made the right choice and decided to come to Holy Family
because it is a perfect fit. I am living in the Duplexes.
Vladimyr Pierre-Louis – Duplex RA
Hi my name is Vladimyr Pierre-Louis. My family and I are from Haiti,
but I was raised in Philadelphia, and I am a graduate of West Catholic
High School in Philadelphia. I am one of three children, and I am the
middle child. I went to West Catholic High School. I chose Holy Family
because of the atmosphere and the small class sizes. I am so glad that
I chose Holy Family because I have grown into a mature adult. My major
is Business Marketing with a minor in Psychology. I am currently a senior
and a third year RA which I feel is a feat. I currently live in the
duplex across the street from campus (which I love). Some of the things
about me are that I love are my family, music, friends, and exploring
the world and meeting new and interesting people. I really love being
an RA because I truly get a lot out of it, from learning how to deal
with different situations to learning about different personalities.
The qualities I take from the RA position leak into my work and everyday
life. This position also helps me put my creative juices and leadership
qualities to use, from planning activities or getting a shy freshman
to open up. Besides being an RA, I am very involved on campus, and I
fully utilize what Holy Family has to offer to me. I am currently involved
in SGA and I plan to get to New Orleans during my spring break to assist
in building homes for the Katrina victims.
Bob Curcio- St. Joseph’s Hall RA
My name is Bob Curcio, and I am a junior psychology major. I am a RA
in Saint Joseph's Hall. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, and I
went to High School at Northeast. Coming out of high school I was looking
for a school with a great psychology program. I found that and more
here at Holy Family. My current GPA here at Holy Family is a 3.0. I
have met some of my best friends at this school, and I know when I graduate
I will be well prepared for the world.
Lilliann Kaminski- St. Joseph’s Hall RA
My name is Lilliann Kaminski and I am currently a sophomore here at
Holy Family majoring in Nursing. I have been living in Westampton, New
Jersey for the past 18 years and graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional
High School in 2006. I chose to attend Holy Family because of its excellent
reputation for its nursing program, and because it is not too far from
my home so I can visit whenever I want. I decided to become a RA because
of my ability to make people feel comfortable, and so I can help with
any problem residents may have. I am very dependable. I also wanted
to become a bigger part of the community here at Holy Family. Living
on campus allows you to make wonderful relationships and meet new amazing
friends. I strongly believe that friends are one of the things you can
always depend on to make it through anything that life may throw your
way. I wanted to become a RA to help build new friendships and relationships
that will not only last through your four years of college, but through
your entire life. I encourage all students on campus to take full advantage
of all the programs and activities Holy Family University has to offer.
I live in St. Joseph’s Hall.
Jisha Mathai- St. Joseph’s Hall RA
My name is Jisha Mathai. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I graduated
from Northeast High School. I am a sophomore Psychology major. I chose
Holy Family because it is close to home, and the campus is small. This
allows me to interact with my professors and easily get around campus.
The atmosphere at Holy Family was so inviting, and everyone greeted
me with a smile. I love kids, so I hope to have a career working with
kids in the medical field. As result of an unfortunate accident, I am
paraplegic with a spinal cord injury. I wanted to be a RA because I
lived in the dorms freshmen year and my RA’s made living on campus
fun and interesting, I am a person who is always there to lend a helping
hand. As a RA, I can express my skills and qualities in many ways.
I live in St Joseph’s Hall.
Michelle Taylor- St. Joseph’s Hall RA
My name is Michelle Taylor, and I am a RA in St. Joseph’s Hall.
I am a third year student who comes from Northeast Philadelphia. I chose
Holy Family for its outstanding reputation in the Department of Education. When
I heard what else the University offered - such as small class sizes with
a faculty and staff who are extremely willing to help - I immediately
knew this was the place for me. My first year of college, I attended Holy
Family as a resident student in St. Joe’s. Since then, this school
has gone above and beyond what my expectations of what a college should
be. I lived in St. Joe’s Hall, and it made for an extraordinary
beginning to my college experience. I achieved a high grade point average
not only through many hours of hard work, but also through many supporters,
great friends, good laughs, and the feeling of family. I decided to apply
for the RA position to try to give back what was given to me during my
first year. Now as a third year resident and a second year RA, I can truly
call St. Joe’s Hall home. I have formed great friendships with the
residents and now we are a family. I think my residents and I can do our
best to make this year remarkable for everybody.
