Residence Life - Services
Student Support
Holy Family employs a team of student-life professionals charged with serving
the best interests of students. For many students, the college experience
is a time of growth and change, and the student-life team is here to offer
support throughout this exciting and challenging time by providing guidance
and advice - or by simply lending an understanding ear.
The Director of Residence Life leads the residence-life program, develops policies
and procedures governing residence life, and administers disciplinary sanctions.
The Assistant Directors of Residence Life, as residents of St. Joseph Hall, the
Garden Residence, and the Duplexes, serve as role models for student residents
while assisting the Director, overseeing programming and housing, and offering
student support.
Student resident advisors, commonly known as RA’s, are highly trained undergraduates
who monitor the residence facilities and ensure that all residents are following
the University's policies and procedures. The professional staff and student
RA’s also serve on a rotating schedule of on-duty shifts to ensure that
either a professional staff member or student RA is always available in the event
of an emergency - or if a student simply needs to talk.
Security
Holy Family is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment. The Northeast
Philadelphia Campus is patrolled by University Security Officers 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. Additionally, a security desk monitors access to St. Joseph
Hall around the clock. Each floor in the residence hall has an emergency telephone
that dials directly to the University Security Command Center, where Security
Officers receive emergency calls and monitor alarms for the entire campus.
Food Service
The
room-and-board fee for St. Joseph Hall includes a meal plan with 15 meals
per week and $150 in flex dollars per semester ($300 per year). Residents
of the Duplex Apartments and the Garden Residence have the option of purchasing
a meal plan separately.
