The Newtown Campus occupies 79 acres in Bucks County PA. The building contains the administrative service area, faculty offices, the Center for Academic Enhancement, the Center for Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology, ten classrooms and laboratories including two mixed-use labs, a science lab, a nursing lab, the Learning Resource Center, chapel, student services office, and a commons dining area.
THE CENTER FOR COUNSELING STUDIES AND SERVICES provides facilities for clinical experience for students in the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology as well as professional offices for faculty. The center includes video and audio equipped training areas for play and therapy and group psychotherapy, and observation room for monitoring individual and group counseling practice sessions, and individual offices for therapy simulation. The center is available for classroom experience and to individual students for skills practice.
THE LEARNING RESOURCES CENTER (LRC) - Room 122 is an extension of the Northeast Campus' Library. The LRC serves the research and information needs of students and faculty through the following tools: on-line research databases that offer references and some full text of scholarly articles; a periodical collection supplemented by on-line databases; books and audiovisual materials; a curriculum library; a children's literature collection; and intercampus and interlibrary loan services.
THE CENTER FOR ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENT (CAE) - Room 135 is equipped to assist the students in organizing and writing research papers and becoming familiar with the APA and MLA styles/formats. The students are given the opportunity to acquire the proper techniques for writing resumes.
THE COMPUTER LABS - Room 131, 132, and 133 offer a variety of software and hardware programs for computer instruction and student self-study. The labs are fully networked and allow for access to the Internet and e-mail. Open lab times are scheduled so that students may accomplish independent work.
THE NURSING LAB and THE SCIENCE LAB - Rooms 242 and 237 are equipped to serve as lecture rooms as well as labs.
THE LANGUAGE LAB - This is a portable lab, located in Room 234. It is available for students of foreign languages to use during classes as well as for individual learning.
THE MULTI-MEDIA ROOM - Room 138 provides large screen video projection, a multimedia PC, document workstation, TV, VCR, professional audio playback, and recording and amplification equipment. It is also equipped with videoconferencing equipment to provide for interactive conferences or classes between the Northeast Philadelphia and Newtown Campuses as well as videoconferencing sites worldwide.
THE MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM - Room 136 has the capacity for large group instruction, and it also supports a local area network.
THE CONFERENCE ROOM - Room 139 is a seminar-style room that is adaptive to seminar and small group meetings.
