Credential File

:: What is a Credential File? A file that ONLY contains your letters of recommendation. Original letters of recommendation are kept in the Careers Center and you keep a copy.

:: Forms to complete: A Credential Service Registration Form and a Directory Card. For letters of recommendation sent to a school you need to complete a Request For Official Credentials Form. Call Susan Dixon,267-341-3332.

:: Documents that are NOT kept in your file: student teaching reports, Clearances, etc. They are kept in the Education Dept.

:: Letters of recommendation are kept in the Careers Center for 6 years after you graduate, and then they are destroyed.

:: PLEASE remember to keep in contact with your teachers in advance so they know that you need letters of recommendation written for you.

:: There will be reminders on the career website to give you advance notice of when they well be destroyed so check the career website for this information.
